BREATHWORK FOR CANCER

28 Sep 2024 11:00
Location: Whitespace

WHAT

Harness the power of your breath to release tension, reduce stress, improve sleep & support your health

Join us for an inspiring breathwork experience accompanied by a live musician. During this special event Sophie will gently guide you through a transformative breath and meditation journey.

Every day we take on average 20,000 breaths, yet most of us are shallow breathers. Your breath is one of the simplest, yet most powerful self-healing tools you have to support your physical, mental and emotional health. The way you breathe affects every system and function in your body.

We heal in a state of relaxation and breathing is one of the quickest ways to bring the body into a relaxed state.

This powerful breathing session will be combined with a mix of tools and techniques, such as self-massage, meditation, gentle movement and visualisation. We will open up your respiratory system — sometimes for the first time — flooding the body with energy, clarity and calm. You'll  able let go of stress, worries and release physical, mental and emotional tension.

WHO

This is for you if you’ve had a cancer diagnosis, maybe you’re going through treatment or you’re in recovery after. This is also for you if you’re a close loved one of someone experiencing cancer.

About Sophie - Sophie Trew is a Breathwork Coach and Holistic Cancer Guide with more than 10 years of experience in the Cancer realm. She works to empower people beyond a diagnosis to take an active role in their health, realise their self-healing capacities and manage their stress by harnessing the powerful tool of their own breath. Sophie runs a monthly online Breathwork for cancer membership and has breathed thousands of clients globally one-on-one and in groups.

She founded Trew Fields - the world's first cancer awareness and holistic health festival.

We’re delighted to have live music accompanying the breathwork by the artist Blue Loop.

About Blue Loop- the alias of electronic musician Emma Hall. Emma creates expansive ambient soundscapes from analogue synthesisers and sampled sounds.

In the past year Emma has come through breast cancer treatment, during which time both music and breathwork have been key to her healing and wellbeing. She is excited to bring these two spaces together with Sophie at this September’s live Breathwork For Cancer event.
